Banfield Pet Hospital
Veterinary Technicians are at the heart of the bond many pet owners feel with their veterinary practice. To celebrate their value, the Human Animal Bond Association and Banfield Pet Hospital have teamed up to offer a $2,000 Veterinary Technician Jump Start Award. The award will be presented to a U.S. technician who demonstrates a commitment to furthering awareness and understanding of the human animal bond.
The scholarship will be awarded on June 15, 2022.

Here are the details! Applicants will

  1. Be a credentialed veterinary technician.
  2. Within 5 years of graduation from an AVMA accredited veterinary technology program.
  3. Submit a brief, well-articulated 250-to-500-word essay that illustrates an understanding of the physiologic, psychologic, and societal benefits of the Human Animal Bond and reflects the applicant’s passion for furthering awareness of the Bond. Please provide specific examples of activities and projects that support and promote those tenants.
  4. Submit the completed Application and Essay by the April 15 deadline
  5. Title the documents with your last name first, followed by your first name, veterinary technology program/school, year of graduation, and current role in the profession (employer name and your title or position).

Our winning applicant will be asked to provide written permission for social media use of her/his name and photo on HABA’s website and e-newsletter and in social media posts. You’ll be interviewed for an issue of the HABA e-letter and will be invited to write an article for the e-letter.
